The 2018 Spring collection is well and truly green. Yes, it’s true that green was the ultimate colour trend in 2017, but when it comes to home decoration,in 2018 the real trend is the greenery of nature. This season, the house fills up with greenery, plants and natural materials.
Coincasa presents an eclectic and contemporary Spring collection, which explores the new essential trend of Upcycling, or re-using materials to make objects and accessories of a high aesthetic and practical quality. The ever-increasing focus on the environment is the main driving force behind the collection: a thought which leads to the creation of objects with a value that not only lies in what they are, but also in what they represent, in their current life and in the lives lived by the materials with which they are made.
Natural fibres, organic cotton and wood are the main players in this tactile adventure, together with rattan, woven and crocheted materials.
Strips of recycled wood, production waste in various materials and remainders of glass and metal are used to breathe life into new, attractive designs. The objects, designed with great care, look as if they have been made by hand, with visible seams and irregular surfaces.
The collection is multi-textured, multi-coloured and multi-taste, full of different looks that complement one another. The colours of the natural materials are mixed and matched to create a wide range of delicate and deeper shades.
Sustainability and continuous research are still the guiding lights of this innovative approach which also shows respect for tradition at the same time: many of the items proposed are made by small businesses and manufacturers, and respect the life cycle of the products and their origins, showing a considerable cultural interest.
The designs of the collection of furniture and furnishing accessories are also based on the main themes of recycling and natural materials, featuring woven fabric elements.
These stories have also provided the inspiration for two special capsule collections, describing themes that focus on the origin of the products, recycling and sustainability. One is made with volcanic materials from Sicily and one has been created in partnership with the women of Madagascar.
Geometries feature on cushions and rugs, combined with flowers, another trend of springtime 2018, on furnishing fabrics and curtains. The objects in the collection stand out for their distinctive craftsmanship and recycled materials, which combine to create a simple, yet ultra-chic taste.
At the table too, elegance takes centre stage, both in the natural quality of the materials, such as raw linen, in the dyes and in the artisan techniques used, such as patchwork and crochet. The tablecloths feature an explosion of colourful, springlike designs and prints: flowers, fruit and butterflies on white backgrounds make a perfect match for the multi-coloured artisan dishes and the accessories made of recycled glass.
